According to the preliminary estimate of Statistics Estonia, in April 2025, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) increased by 1.2% compared with March and by 4.4% compared with April last year.

The consumer price index uses weights reflecting the average expenditure structure of Estonian residents, while the harmonised index of consumer prices also takes into account tourists and is comparable to the international HICP.

“According to initial estimates, the harmonised index of consumer prices in April was most affected by increases in the prices of healthcare services and food as well as by lower housing costs,” said Lauri Veski, team lead of consumer price statistics at Statistics Estonia.

The consumer price index data for April will be published by Statistics Estonia on 8 May. Data on the harmonised index of consumer prices will be published on 16 May.
